Since 2019, I have been building a camera system to document images from inside my kiln at temperatures over 2000f. By gathering actual evidence during the firing cycle years of speculation can be confirmed or corrected in moments.
In 2016 I built a reduction-fired electric kiln with L&L kilns that uses a computer controller to introduce propane safely into my kiln and create a reduction atmosphere. This allows me to control my crystalline glaze work with the tempurature accuracy I demand, but to get all of the benefits of reduction on my glazes.
